Silk kimono - The fabric is crucial

A kimono from my studio is more than just a bathrobe or a piece of clothing. It is an expression of elegance, Japanese tradition, and European design. What makes a luxury kimono truly unique? The answer lies in the combination of high-quality fabrics and masterful craftsmanship.

Silk: The royal material

Silk has always been regarded as the most noble material. It is incredibly soft and gentle on the skin, and naturally breathable and temperature-regulating. A silk kimono is the perfect loungewear for any season. A silk kimono promotes comfort and relaxation and is ideal for cozy days at home.

For my collection, I primarily rely on dupioni silk from India. This silk is characterized by its irregular yet unique texture, which gives the kimono a special vibrancy. The double processing creates a kind of 'climate zone', an air chamber that has a balancing effect: it warms in winter and cools in summer. As a natural material, silk is also durable and retains its quality for years with proper care.
